The House

Paradise is approximately 150 years old and has a wealth of exposed beams which ooze charm and comfort, however modern living is not forgotten and hidden away are the essential conveniences like a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and a small gym. The beamed lounge and dining area contains an old oak dining table seating 8. The lounge area has a wood burning fire, with a comfy sofa and armchairs. Although during the summer months it’s unlikely you would want to come in from the pool and gardens for visitors during the lovely winter months there is a 3D HD TV, DVD and Blu Ray players with a selection of Films and CD’s should you want a cozy night in front of the fire. Up the main staircase are three double bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room, and a further room with a lovely four poster bed with lace canopy. Off the rear double bedroom is a lovely room with a single bed but which makes a either a sitting / dressing room to the double if this is not needed as a bedroom. A further small bed or cot can be added if required. To complete the sleeping accommodation there is a further charming twin bedroom downstairs at the front of the house. All of the upstairs bedrooms have lovely far reaching views over the countryside. As well as the en-suite there is a family bathroom upstairs and an additional separate toilet and washbasin downstairs.

Immediately outside the French doors from the dining area is a wonderful covered patio perfect for sitting out with a bottle of wine, beyond which are raised herb and flower beds and a small grassed and gravelled parking area leading onto an ornamental pond with fountain.

Beyond this is the 10m x 4m Luxury Heated Swimming Pool with cascading steps and an amazing Projector light with various colour options for an incredible effect. A completely self-contained Pool House - containing a summer kitchen and sitting area and a separate toilet and changing room allowing you to spend the whole day here without the need to make the journey back to the house (which is all of 30 metres!). This really is a fantastic area in which no expense has been spared - from the quality of the pool with its underwater sitting areas to allow plenty of space for relaxing without getting in the way of those who wish to swim. On the terrace is a covered dining area with wooden table and 8 chairs and two all-weather sofas for pre-dinner drinks in the sun

Across from the pool area of this part of the garden is a petanque/boules area as the previous owner was a French champion at the sport! Equipment for this and other outdoor activities is in the bike store where we have a number of adult and children's bikes which you can use but please bring your own safely helmets and pads if required.

Beyond here is our field which can be used for ball games or just letting off steam, however the views from here are lovely and it would equally be a perfect place to set up an easel for a day’s painting ! Back in the main house a door off the sitting area leads into what was the old barn and is now a further sitting/relaxing area with large double doors opening out on the village lane. Off this room is the downstairs twin bedroom. A second staircase leading from the additional sitting room brings you to the games room with table tennis and pool tables and a bar football game as well as a further bed which gives you a sitting area or can be used as an extra bedroom for another adult or older child (Steep staircase). This area of the house can provide an almost separate area if required - for either children or teenagers to have their own space or for older guests who want to have a quiet space to retreat to now and again.

Altogether it is a delightful home which we have furnished with good quality period items. Our working life as suppliers of equipment to the conference industry involves us staying many nights in hotels and it is this quality and comfort we have aimed for in furnishing our own home. However due to the number of times we are away during the year we have decided to allow discerning couples and families to share our wonderful relaxing home for their own holidays.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family or friends to Paradise and hope you will want to return time and time again.
